HON. WASIU ADESINA HOSTS 9TH ANNUAL RAMADAN LECTURE, ADVOCATES UNITY AND RESPONSIBLE CITIZENSHIP ~ INN Nigeria ☆

To foster unity, spiritual growth, and community progress, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, hosted the 9th Annual Ramadan Lecture on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

The well-attended event, held at the Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat, brought together key stakeholders, Muslim council staff, and religious leaders for an enlightening discourse and prayer session.

This year’s lecture, delivered by Imam Shakirudeen Orilobamishe, the Chief Missioner of Iradatullah Islamic Society of Nigeria (Iradat Iradat), focused on “Unity, Patriotism, and Responsible Citizenship.”

He emphasized the need for selflessness, active civic participation, and moral integrity in fostering community and national development.

Hon. Wasiu Adesina, in his address, expressed gratitude for another Ramadan season and reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives that strengthen moral values and communal harmony.

He urged residents to actively contribute to the growth of Ikorodu, stressing that true development stems from collective effort and responsible citizenship.

Imam Orilobamishe, in his thought-provoking lecture, reminded attendees that Islam encourages patriotism and accountability.

He stated:
“A responsible citizen does not undermine public trust but works towards the progress of society. We must uphold integrity, avoid corruption, and ensure our communities reflect the values of justice and righteousness.”

He further encouraged residents to support local governance, participate in community initiatives, and take ownership of their roles in societal development.

The gathering also featured special prayer sessions led by Islamic scholars, seeking divine guidance for the leadership of Ikorodu Local Government and peace in Nigeria.

In his closing remarks, Hon. Adesina reassured attendees of his administration’s dedication to the socio-economic and infrastructural advancement of Ikorodu.

He pledged continued support for religious programs that promote peace and social development, adding that positive transformation would persist beyond his tenure.
