ORIWU SENIOR MODEL COLLEGE IKORODU BAGS TOP PERFORMING SCHOOL AWARD AS ADEKANYE EMERGES BEST OUTSTANDING TG/PS ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Lagos, Nigeria – The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS) of Education District II, Mrs. Anike Adekanye, has been recognized for her exceptional contributions to education in Lagos State, winning the prestigious “Year 2025 Best Outstanding Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary” award at the Africa Top Schools Hall of Fame ceremony.

The event, held recently at Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, saw the Lagos State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Honourable Jamiu Tolani Ali-Balogun, presenting the award to Mrs. Adekanye in recognition of her leadership, dedication, and transformative impact on education in the district.

While presenting the award, Hon. Ali-Balogun described Mrs. Adekanye as an exemplary administrator with a keen focus on efficiency, discipline, and educational excellence. He commended her ability to enforce policies while also motivating both staff and students towards academic and extracurricular success.

“If you want decency, efficiency, effectiveness, and performance, you must be strict with policies, highly disciplined, and at the same time, highly motivating,” the Commissioner stated, noting that Mrs. Adekanye has consistently driven positive reforms in education governance.

In another remarkable achievement for Education District II, Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu, was recognized as the “Year 2025 Top Performing School of The Year”, further solidifying its reputation as a leading institution in Lagos State.

The school’s Principal, Mrs. Iyabo Elushakin, was also honored with the “Best Principal of The Year” award, a testament to her leadership in fostering academic excellence and overall school development.

The Group CEO of Africa Brand Review, Mr. Joseph Ayodele, emphasized that the awards were given purely on merit, acknowledging the significant improvements in students’ academic performances and service delivery under Mrs. Adekanye’s stewardship.

He noted that the Top Schools Hall of Fame, now in its 10th edition, is dedicated to recognizing institutions that demonstrate outstanding and consistent educational excellence across Africa. The platform serves as a guide for parents and students in making informed choices about top-tier schools.

Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Mrs. Adekanye dedicated her award to the hardworking teachers, staff, and students of Education District II. She also acknowledged the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, his Deputy, Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, and the Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Tolani Ali-Balogun, for providing the enabling environment to drive educational growth in the state.

The occasion was also graced by the Chairman of the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mrs. Victoria Mopelola Peregrino, alongside other distinguished education stakeholders.

The recognition of Mrs. Adekanye, Oriwu Senior Model College, and Principal Iyabo Elushakin at the prestigious awards ceremony further underscores Lagos State’s commitment to quality education and academic excellence.
