As Christians across Lagos State commemorate Palm Sunday, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Rural Development, has extended heartfelt greetings to believers in rural communities.
In his message on the 13th of April 2025, Dr. Agbaje emphasized the significance of Palm Sunday as a time for reflection, unity, and hope.
He stated, “Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, a period that embodies sacrifice, compassion, and renewal. I encourage all Christians, especially those in our rural areas, to embrace the spirit of this season and continue to foster peace and community development.”
Dr. Agbaje highlighted the Lagos State Government’s commitment to improving the quality of life in rural areas.
Under the THEMES Plus Agenda, initiatives such as the Lagos State Rural Electrification Initiative have been launched, delivering high-capacity transformers to underserved communities, thereby enhancing access to electricity and boosting local economies.
Additionally, infrastructural projects like the construction of roads in various local council development areas have significantly improved connectivity and commerce in rural regions.
Dr. Agbaje reiterated the administration’s dedication to inclusive development, ensuring that no community is left behind.
He called on community leaders and residents to actively participate in government programs aimed at uplifting rural areas, stating, “Together, we can build resilient communities that reflect the true spirit of Lagos.”
As the Holy Week unfolds, Dr. Agbaje’s message serves as a reminder of the shared values and collective efforts needed to drive progress across all parts of the state.
