The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, has announced the commencement of a three-day free medical outreach tagged Jigi Bola 2.0, organised in collaboration with the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board, Health District II, and CHAI.
The medical outreach, according to the Chairman, is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to improve access to basic healthcare services for residents across the local government.
The programme is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, April 15, Wednesday, April 16, and Thursday, April 17, 2025.
The first day of the programme will be held at the Oba Ayangburen Palace, the second day at Alagura Palace, and the final day at the Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat.
Each location has been strategically selected to ensure maximum participation and accessibility for residents in different parts of the community.
Services to be offered during the outreach include free eye screening, distribution of free reading glasses, blood pressure checks, and free enrollment into the Ilera Eko Health Scheme.
These services are aimed at addressing some of the most common health challenges facing residents and encouraging preventive healthcare practices.
Hon. Wasiu Adesina, while speaking with Ikorodu News Network (INN) on the 14th of April 2025, reiterated his administration’s dedication to public health and the well-being of citizens.
He emphasized that the outreach is a demonstration of the local government’s resolve to work with relevant health agencies in delivering grassroots medical interventions.
He urged all residents, especially those experiencing issues with their eyesight or blood pressure, to take advantage of the opportunity to receive professional medical attention free of charge.
He also encouraged those who have not yet enrolled in the Ilera Eko Health Scheme to do so during the outreach to enjoy continued access to affordable healthcare services.
The Jigi Bola 2.0 initiative is aligned with the broader healthcare agenda of the Lagos State Government, focusing on reducing the incidence of preventable diseases and enhancing the overall wellbeing of the populace through inclusive health programmes.
