Alhaji Yusuf Olanrewaju, a prominent Apex Leader and Organizing Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu Division, has lauded the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for his commitment to infrastructural development across the state, particularly in Ikorodu Division.
Alhaji Olanrewaju gave the commendation on Saturday, April 19, 2025, during a stakeholders’ sensitization meeting held at Winners Estate in Ikorodu.
The engagement was organized to brief community members about the forthcoming construction of the 1.3km Egbeyemi Monsuru and Alhaja Taibat Road in Ikorodu Central.
Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN), Alhaji Yusuf emphasized that the ongoing and proposed infrastructure projects by the Lagos State Government are vital to the economic transformation of Ikorodu Division.
He described the Egbeyemi Monsuru and Alhaja Taibat Road project as a welcome development that would not only ease transportation but also stimulate economic activities within the area.
The official kick-off date for the road construction was disclosed by Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, who announced that the project will commence on Monday, April 29, 2025.
“The consistent focus on rural and suburban development under Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration is evident, and as stakeholders in the Ikorodu Division, we are grateful. These roads will enhance connectivity, improve the value of properties, and promote local business growth,” Alhaji Yusuf noted.
In his remarks, Alhaji Olanrewaju also praised the Governor for the significant progress recorded in the ongoing Gberigbe Road construction, which he noted is now extending towards Agura Road — another strategic axis in the Ikorodu Central area.
He stressed the developmental potential of the Agura-Iponmi Ward, which he described as the largest in Ikorodu Central.
According to him, with the right infrastructure, the ward possesses the demographic and geographic capacity to become an independent Local Government Area (LGA) in the future.
Furthermore, Alhaji Yusuf extended his commendation to Dr. Agbaje for his proactive efforts in delivering impactful projects to rural communities across Lagos State.
He applauded the Special Adviser for judiciously utilizing his office to bridge the infrastructural gap in underserved areas.
The event was attended by key stakeholders, community leaders, and the Lagos State Office of Rural Development, further reinforcing the government’s readiness to collaborate with communities for effective project execution.
With continuous efforts in grassroots development, the Lagos State Government under Governor Sanwo-Olu is gaining accolades from political leaders and residents alike for turning promises into visible realities in Ikorodu Division.
