The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians across the rural communities of Lagos State, commending their steadfast faith, peaceful coexistence, and contributions to community development.

In a goodwill message released on the 20th of April 2025, Dr. Agbaje described Easter as a season of hope, renewal, and spiritual reflection, urging Christians to embrace the teachings of sacrifice, love, and resilience demonstrated by Jesus Christ.

He noted that the resurrection of Christ remains a powerful reminder of victory over trials and the promise of new beginnings.

“As we celebrate this sacred season, I commend the Christian faithful, particularly in our rural communities, for their unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and community growth,” Dr. Agbaje said.

“Easter is not just a time of festivity, but also an opportunity to rekindle our collective spirit of compassion, service, and moral responsibility.”

Dr. Agbaje also used the opportunity to reassure residents of the state government’s continued commitment to rural development, citing ongoing electrification projects, infrastructural upgrades, and social welfare interventions aimed at transforming the standard of living in underserved communities.

He called for greater interfaith harmony, stressing that both Christians and Muslims must continue to work hand in hand to build a prosperous and inclusive Lagos.

“As we celebrate Easter, let us reflect on the values that bind us together as a people—faith, unity, and progress.”

“Let this season inspire us all to play our part in building stronger, safer, and more resilient communities,” he concluded.
