EASTER RELIEF: iCare FOOD BANK DELIVERS LOVE AND PROVISIONS ACROSS IKORODU ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Ikorodu, April 19, 2025 – In the spirit of Easter and community love, the iCare Foundation, led by Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson (MHR) once again put smiles on the faces of residents in Ikorodu Federal Constituency by distributing 500 food packs through its Apo Aanu (Bag of Mercy) outreach program.

The Easter edition, held at the Ikorodu Constituency Office, resonated with the season’s message of hope, compassion, and giving.

It served as a vital lifeline for vulnerable households, reinforcing the commitment of the iCare Foundation to fighting hunger and uplifting lives.

The event was well-attended by distinguished guests, including the DG of iCare Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwo-Ola, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Oareeaju (Chairman, Ikorodu West LCDA), Mr. Samson Babatunde Ogunjimi (Accountant General of Nigeria), Chief Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa (Baba Oloja of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA), Hon. Ameen Olawake Apanishile (Vice Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA), Hon. Alimi Nurudeen (Leader of the House, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA), as well as councilors, youth leaders, religious heads, and CDC members.

Beneficiaries drawn from the six constituent councils — Ikorodu Local Government, Ikorodu North LCDA, Ikorodu West LCDA, Ijede LCDA, Imota LCDA, and Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA — received food packages containing rice, beans, garri, and essential groceries. The outreach also catered to persons with special needs, reflecting a deliberate commitment to inclusive service.

Speaking at the welfare support event, Rep. Benson reiterated the essence of the season: “Easter is a time of renewal and sacrifice. Through Apo Aanu, we hope to spread that message practically — by ensuring no one is forgotten.”

Residents were visibly joyful as they received the food support.

Mrs. Jolaoye Yetunde, a mother of four from Ikorodu Central, described the gesture as lifesaving. “This Easter means a lot to us. The food pack helps more than words can express,” she said.

Mrs. Odunowo Afolashade from Igbogbo added, “This initiative truly brings Easter home for those of us struggling. It’s more than food — it’s care.”

A first-time beneficiary, Mr. Nwojoku Christian, from Ward G, noted, “I didn’t expect this. It’s well-organized and generous. Rep. Benson has shown what true representation means.”

Also, receiving for the first time, Mrs. Christianah Adejuwon highlighted the inclusive nature of the outreach: “It shows that everyone matters. The effort to reach even the overlooked is touching.”

Now a hallmark of Rep. Benson’s legislative social welfare drive, the Apo Aanu food bank has become an enduring source of hope and support.

As the country grapples with economic hardship, this Easter edition exemplifies how responsive leadership can bring warmth to citizens during critical times.

The initiative continues to encourage unity, service, and shared responsibility among leaders and the people.
