Dr. Olufemi Aletan, the Medical Director/CEO of General Hospital, Ijede, alongside the hospital’s management team and staff, has extended profound gratitude to the Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba Adeoriyomi Oyebo, for laying the foundation stone for a new physiotherapy department at the hospital, in a heartfelt show of appreciation.
The landmark gesture, which commemorates the monarch’s 15th anniversary on the throne, was carried out yesterday at the hospital premises.
Dr. Aletan, while addressing attendees at the foundation-laying ceremony, explained that the new physiotherapy department is a timely and much-needed addition.
According to him, the hospital’s existing physiotherapy unit and General Outpatient Department (GOPD) have been overwhelmed due to the high volume of patients, resulting in significant space constraints.
“His Royal Majesty made a promise to support the hospital with a new physiotherapy department, and he has fulfilled it.”
“This new development will not only ease pressure on the current facilities but will also give the hospital a much-needed facelift and increase its value in the delivery of healthcare,” Dr. Aletan said.
The event attracted notable dignitaries, including the Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, who was accompanied by his royal chiefs, the CEO of Egbin Power PLC, Mr. Mokhtar Bounoir, along with his executive team, and the Chief Imam of Egbin Kingdom, who offered prayers for the success of the project.
The foundation-laying ceremony marks a new chapter in the hospital’s journey towards enhancing patient care and infrastructure, reflecting the collaborative efforts between traditional leadership and public healthcare institutions for the betterment of the community.
