REAL ESTATE MOGUL AND NATURE EXPERT, AMB. LAWRENCE ONWUKWEM, SENDS POWERFUL MESSAGE OF HOPE TO NIGERIAN WORKERS ON MAY DAY ~ INN Nigeria ☆

As Nigeria joined the rest of the world to mark International Workers’ Day on May 1st, real estate mogul, environmental advocate, and philanthropist, Ambassador Lawrence Onwukwem, has extended heartfelt solidarity and encouragement to Nigerian workers, urging them to remain hopeful and resilient in the face of the nation’s socio-economic challenges.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Ambassador Onwukwem acknowledged the pivotal role workers play in nation-building and emphasized the need for government and private sector leaders to prioritize workers’ welfare as a non-negotiable foundation for national progress.

Describing workers as “the lifeblood of every thriving economy,” Onwukwem praised their commitment, perseverance, and sacrifices in ensuring the continued growth of Nigeria’s key sectors, particularly in uncertain times.

“Despite inflation, wage stagnation, and rising cost of living, Nigerian workers continue to show remarkable strength and undying patriotism. This spirit is what gives me great hope for our nation’s future,” he stated.

As a staunch advocate for sustainable development, Ambassador Onwukwem also highlighted the importance of aligning labour policies with environmental sustainability.

He urged labour unions, employers, and policymakers to work together to create a greener, healthier, and more inclusive work environment.

“Sustainable development is not just about profit; it’s about people and the planet. Our workers deserve not just fair pay, but a healthy environment in which to thrive,” he added.

Ambassador Onwukwem further called on the government to fully implement the new minimum wage policy, invest in skills development, and provide social safety nets for vulnerable workers.

He stressed that equitable labour practices would not only boost productivity but also strengthen the economy and foster national unity.

He concluded with a message of unwavering optimism: “To every Nigerian worker—whether you are a teacher, artisan, doctor, farmer, civil servant, or entrepreneur—know that your efforts are not in vain. The seeds you sow today are shaping the Nigeria we all dream of. Do not give up. Our best days are still ahead.”
