Lagos, May 1, 2025 — In commemoration of International Workers’ Day, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, has extended heartfelt greetings and commendation to workers in rural communities across the state, acknowledging their unwavering contributions to grassroots development and the growth of Lagos as a whole.
In his May 1st message, Dr. Agbaje saluted the diligence, resilience, and sacrifices of rural workers, emphasizing that their efforts form the backbone of socio-economic progress in the state’s underserved regions.
He reiterated the Lagos State Government’s continued commitment under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to promoting inclusive development that empowers rural communities through improved infrastructure, electrification projects, agricultural support, and access to essential services.
“On this Workers’ Day, I join the government and good people of Lagos State in appreciating the men and women in our rural areas who rise daily to contribute their quota to a greater Lagos,” Dr. Agbaje stated.
“Whether in agriculture, construction, education, healthcare, or informal trades, your hard work does not go unnoticed. You are the true heroes of our development journey.”
The Special Adviser also reassured rural dwellers that ongoing and future rural development programs will prioritize job creation, improved working conditions, and access to modern amenities that elevate the standard of living in remote areas.
He concluded his message by urging rural workers to remain steadfast, united, and hopeful, stressing that the present administration values their contributions and is focused on bridging the urban-rural development gap.
Dr. Agbaje’s message added a personal and compassionate tone to the statewide celebration of workers, especially those whose voices are often underrepresented during national holidays.
