NPC COMMISSIONER INSPECTS IKORODU OFFICE, COMMENDS STAFF, CALLS FOR IMPROVED MONITORING ACROSS LCDAs ~ INN Nigeria ☆

The Honourable Federal Commissioner representing Lagos State at the National Population Commission (NPC), Hon. (Mrs.) Saidat Olayinka Oladunjoye, paid a working visit to the NPC department at the Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat on Friday, May 2nd, 2025, in a bid to strengthen preparations for the forthcoming national census.

The inspection, which took place at the NPC office located within the Council Secretariat, saw the Commissioner personally assess the department’s readiness and operational capacity.

She was received and chaperoned by the Lagos State Director of NPC, Mr. Bamidele Sadiku Amida.

During the inspection, Hon. (Mrs.) Oladunjoye commended the Controller General in Ikorodu, Mrs. Caroline Ochokwu and her team for their dedication and effectiveness in managing census-related responsibilities.

The Commissioner also took time to interact with the staff, acknowledging the presence of 15 personnel stationed at the Ikorodu office and 15 additional centres strategically positioned across the region.

While applauding their efforts, she inquired about the challenges being faced by the team and assured them of her commitment to addressing critical issues that may hinder effective service delivery.

In a proactive move to ensure full coverage and accountability, Hon. (Mrs.) Oladunjoye directed Mrs. Caroline Ochokwu to embark on a tour across all Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) within the Ikorodu division and provide a comprehensive situation report on all designated NPC staff and their activities.

She emphasized the importance of discipline and presence, urging all officials to remain at their assigned departments and designated stations to ensure efficiency and transparency in the census process.

In her closing remarks, the Commissioner expressed her gratitude to the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, for his support and for providing adequate office space for the NPC registrars stationed in the local government.

The inspection further underscores the commitment of the National Population Commission to ensuring that every level of preparation aligns with national standards ahead of the critical census exercise.
