Leader of the Legislative Chamber in Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Adebowale Adebola Ajayi has commended the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for his administration’s unwavering commitment to rural development, exemplified by the official flag-off of the 1.3-kilometre road construction project linking Monsuru Egbeyemi and Alhaja Agbaje Streets in the Poromosan community of Ikorodu.
The flag-off ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, marks a major stride in the state government’s efforts to strengthen grassroots infrastructure under the THEMES Plus development agenda.
Hon. Ajayi described the initiative as a welcome development that will significantly improve the daily lives of residents in the area, citing benefits such as enhanced mobility, improved drainage, increased economic activity, and improved security through the installation of solar-powered streetlights.
He praised Governor Sanwo-Olu’s leadership for prioritizing rural communities in infrastructure planning and delivery.
The lawmaker also extended his appreciation to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, for his pivotal role in ensuring that Ikorodu continues to benefit from the dividends of democracy.
He lauded Dr. Agbaje’s dedication and hands-on involvement through the Office of Rural Development, which has consistently delivered impactful projects across the Ikorodu Division.
“Through the efforts of Dr. Agbaje and the visionary leadership of Governor Sanwo-Olu, Ikorodu is not left behind in the inclusive development agenda of Lagos State. This project is a clear testament to that commitment,” Hon. Ajayi stated.
He further called on community residents to support and safeguard the project to ensure its successful and timely completion.
