Mr. Abiodun Musibau Quadri, Chairman of Irebami Poromosan Community Development Association (CDA) in Ikorodu Local Government Area, has commended the Lagos State Government for the official flag-off of the 1.3-kilometre road construction linking Monsuru Egbeyemi and Alhaja Agbaje Streets in the Poromosan community.
Speaking to Ikorodu News Network (INN) on the 9th of May 2025, Mr. Quadri expressed gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for flagging off the road project on the 6th of May 2025, describing it as a major milestone in bringing developmental dividends to underserved areas in Lagos State.
“This is a moment of transformation for our community. The 1.3km road, when completed, will not only enhance mobility but will also ease traffic congestion and create opportunities for local businesses,” he stated.
Irebami Poromosan CDA is one of the four CDAs—alongside Winners Estate, Winners Estate Phase 2, and All Saints CDA—that will benefit directly from this road project under the THEMES Plus development agenda of the Sanwo-Olu administration.
Mr. Quadri also lauded the efforts of Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, for ensuring that the Poromosan community was included in the Lagos State Government’s rural infrastructure development initiative.
“Dr. Agbaje has been instrumental in ensuring that rural communities like ours are not left behind. His commitment to inclusive development is commendable,” he said.
He further applauded the leadership of the Ikorodu Central Community Development Committee (CDC), especially Elder Ogunjimi Yekinni (Chairman) and Alhaji Lookman Sonibare (Secretary), for their coordination and representation of CDA interests throughout the process.
Highlighting the features of the proposed road—7.3-metre width, standard drainage systems, culverts, solar-powered streetlights, kerbs, and lane markings—Mr. Quadri emphasized its potential to improve community life and expand economic activities.
As the project kicks off, he urged residents to support the contractors, show ownership of the project, and harness the local economic benefits that will emerge during and after construction.
The project is being supervised by the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and the Office of Rural Development, with completion projected within one year.
“This initiative confirms that the Lagos State Government is committed to inclusive growth. Our community stands as a living testimony to what responsive governance looks like,” Mr. Quadri concluded.
