IKORODU NORTH LCDA, LAGOS – The Chairman of the Ito Community Development Association (CDA), Mr. Taiwo Dosumu has lauded the Lagos State Government for the ongoing rehabilitation of the 5-kilometer Ito Community Road, calling it a vital development that marks a turning point for residents of the area.
Describing the road as the “spine of the community,” Mr. Dosumu highlighted its strategic importance in easing travel time, reducing vehicle maintenance costs, enhancing emergency response, and drawing investment into Ikorodu North LCDA.
“The 5km Ito Community Road is essential to our daily lives and overall growth,” Mr. Dosumu remarked. “This initiative reconnects us to opportunities we’ve been cut off from for too long.”
He expressed deep appreciation to Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for his proactive and inclusive governance, particularly in addressing the infrastructural needs of grassroots communities.
“We sincerely appreciate Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his proactive approach and unwavering commitment to grassroots development,” he said.
In addition, Mr. Dosumu extended heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, for facilitating the road project through the Office of Rural Development.
He acknowledged Dr. Agbaje’s role in ensuring that rural communities like Ito are not left behind in the wave of infrastructure transformation sweeping across Lagos State.
“The facilitation of this road through the Office of Rural Development shows the genuine impact of responsive governance. We are thankful to Dr. Nurudeen Agbaje for being a bridge between the government and the people,” he added.
Residents of the Ito community have long endured the effects of poor road conditions, which have affected access to schools, healthcare, and markets.
The rehabilitation of the road now promises to renew livelihoods and enhance mobility, while restoring public confidence in the state’s rural development agenda.
The project stands as a testament to the Sanwo-Olu administration’s resolve to extend infrastructure and economic growth to all parts of Lagos, ensuring no community is left behind.
