LAGOS STATE — In celebration of this year’s Mother’s Day, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje has extended warm felicitations to mothers across rural communities in Lagos, describing them as the backbone of every successful home and an integral force in the socio-economic stability of the state.
In a heartfelt message released on Sunday, the 11th of May 2025, Dr. Agbaje praised the resilience, nurturing spirit, and strength of rural mothers, acknowledging their unwavering commitment to their families, communities, and the development of the state at large.
“On this special day, I celebrate all our hardworking and dedicated mothers across the rural areas of Lagos State,” he said. “You are the backbone of every successful home and the silent pillars upon which our communities thrive.”
Dr. Agbaje noted that mothers in rural areas play vital roles not only in the upbringing of children but also in sustaining local economies through agriculture, petty trading, and community support systems — often under challenging circumstances.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led administration to ensuring that rural mothers have improved access to basic amenities, healthcare, empowerment opportunities, and infrastructure that will ease their burdens and enhance their well-being.
“As we honour you today, be assured that our government remains committed to policies and projects that will uplift rural households, support women-led initiatives, and promote inclusive development,” Dr. Agbaje stated.
