GBERIGBE ROAD PROJECT NEARS COMPLETION, LASG BOOSTS CONNECTIVITY IN IKORODU’S REMOTE COMMUNITIES ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Lagos, Nigeria – May 17, 2025, In a remarkable stride toward infrastructural development and rural integration, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration is on the verge of completing the much-anticipated Gberigbe Road Project in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

The project, now at 90% completion, signifies another bold step in the ongoing transformation of remote communities across the state under the current administration’s THEMES Agenda.

The Gberigbe Road Project begins at the terminal point of the Ijede Road (Phase I) and stretches through Gbodu Junction, finally connecting to the Igbokuta/Agura Road Junction.

Once completed, this road will serve as a crucial artery linking several strategic locations in the Ikorodu axis, including Ijede, Mowo, Agura, and Imota.

Residents and motorists in the area have long awaited this development, which is expected to dramatically ease movement and bolster economic activities across Ikorodu’s agrarian and industrial zones.

According to officials from the Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, the project not only enhances accessibility but is also structured to improve traffic flow and reduce travel time in the region.

“This road is a critical component of our infrastructural expansion under the THEMES development agenda. It will improve access to key economic zones, including the Imota Rice Mill and the Public Works Asphalt Plant, which are integral to our food security and industrialization plans,” Governor Sanwo-Olu stated during a recent inspection of ongoing road projects in Lagos.

The administration also hinted that the Gberigbe Road will serve as a foundation for subsequent strategic link roads that will further connect Imota to other high-impact infrastructure in Lagos East, driving commerce, job creation, and rural development.

Community leaders and residents have lauded the pace and quality of work, describing it as a “long-overdue blessing” that will bring relief to daily commuters and encourage investment in the region.

With the Gberigbe Road Project nearing full completion, the Sanwo-Olu administration reaffirms its commitment to transforming rural Lagos into vibrant, livable, and economically active hubs, in line with its vision of a Greater Lagos.
