In a moment of well-deserved recognition, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina was bestowed with the Ikorodu Champion of Community Development award on Monday, May 19, 2025.
The ceremony took place at the Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat and formed part of the celebration marking the 43rd birthday of Alhaja Rashidat Bello, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Woman Leader in Ikorodu Division and Special Adviser to the Chairman on Women Affairs.
The prestigious award highlighted Hon. Adesina’s dedication to the development of Ikorodu. His tenure has been marked by numerous people-oriented initiatives that strengthen social cohesion, uphold cultural heritage, and instill a lasting sense of pride among residents.
In her birthday remarks, Alhaja Rashidat Bello described the Chairman as a visionary leader whose grassroots efforts have significantly transformed various sectors within the community.
She praised his inclusive governance style and emphasized the importance of recognizing leaders who prioritize people-centered development.
Presenting the award, party faithfuls and community leaders applauded Hon. Adesina for his consistent engagement with youth, women, traditional institutions, and civil society groups, as well as his infrastructural interventions in health, education, and environmental sanitation.
