Lagos, Nigeria – May 28, 2025, The Lagos State Government has officially announced the commencement of entries for the African Music Next Talent Hunt, a groundbreaking initiative designed to discover, nurture, and launch the next wave of music superstars from across the African continent.
Speaking on the launch, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, emphasized the administration’s deep commitment to strengthening the creative industry and positioning Lagos as a cultural hub and springboard for African talent.
“As part of our commitment to strengthening the creative industry and positioning Lagos as a launchpad for African talent, I am pleased to officially announce the call for entries for the African Music Next Talent Hunt,” Benson-Awoyinka stated.
African Music Next is a dedicated talent development programme that focuses on identifying rising stars in the music space and equipping them with the tools, training, and exposure required to succeed on a global stage.
The programme will be delivered in collaboration with leading international music labels such as Empire, alongside other notable partners in the industry.
This strategic partnership is designed to ensure that participants benefit from world-class mentorship, industry expertise, and career-defining opportunities.
The initiative will not only spotlight emerging talents but also provide them with professional development and industry-standard support systems that are vital for longevity and success in the highly competitive music industry.
