Hon. Abimbola Taiwo Owomilowomi, the serving Councillor representing Ward E and the Majority Leader of the Ikorodu West Legislative Council, on Saturday convened a pivotal reconciliation meeting with fellow party members and aspirants in a bid to consolidate unity and ensure the continued dominance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
The meeting, held within Ward E – which comprises the communities of Isawo, Oke-Oko, and Igbo-Olomu – brought together respected party leaders, stakeholders, and aspirants to resolve internal grievances that followed the recent APC councillorship primary elections.
Hon. Abimbola, who is seeking re-election for a second term in office in the upcoming July 12, 2025 councillorship polls, disclosed that the meeting marked the third reconciliation effort since the primaries.
This particular engagement, however, reached a significant milestone as long-standing grey areas were finally resolved in the presence of influential stakeholders.
Prominent among the attendees were his co-aspirants during the primary elections, Hon. Adeyemi Yusuf and Hon. Abiodun, who engaged in constructive dialogue and lent their voices to the call for unity and progress within the ward.
“We have decided to put aside our differences and work as one formidable team for the collective success of our great party,” Hon. Abimbola stated. “Our shared commitment to the growth, development, and peace of Ward E surpasses individual ambitions.”
The Majority Leader emphasized that peace and unity remain paramount as the ward prepares for the July 2025 elections. He urged supporters, residents, and admirers of his fellow aspirants to join hands and support the APC’s efforts at the grassroots level.
“In the spirit of reconciliation, I appeal to all aggrieved members to sheath their swords,” he continued. “We are stronger together. This victory belongs to all of us.”
He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to diligently serve the ward if re-elected, promising to double the developmental strides already recorded in his first term.
“God bless Ward E, Ikorodu West LCDA. God bless Lagos State. God bless Nigeria,” he declared in his closing remarks.
The reconciliation initiative has been widely lauded as a timely and strategic move to strengthen the APC’s chances in Ward E and ensure continued delivery of the dividends of democracy to the grassroots.
