IKORODU, LAGOS – Aarebirin Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba has restated her dedication to transforming lives through the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and her various grassroots-oriented initiatives, declaring that her passion for service is a lifelong commitment.
The National Chairman of the Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGONVC) and outgoing Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government announced this during a state press conference organized under the banner of her Grow Ikorodu Now Movement.
The event, which took place in Ikorodu on the 4th of June 2025, was attended by political stakeholders, members of the media, and grassroots supporters.
It also highlighted her roles as Global Director General of the Asiwaju Distinguished Ambassadors Movement (ADAM) and Coordinator of the APC Amazons.
Responding to a journalist’s inquiry about her political future as her tenure nears its conclusion, Princess Folashade-Oba stated:
“My service course is for a lifetime whether I am in office or not. I have given over 20 years of my life doing this, and there is no pausing at this point. ”
“If you can’t ascertain my love to serve Ikorodu, Lagos State, and Nigeria, you won’t be able to understand why I am always relevant and valuable to the system.”
She used the occasion to reiterate her loyalty to the All Progressives Congress, praised the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and voiced strong support for his second-term ambition.
She noted that Nigerians are beginning to acknowledge the positive impact of President Tinubu’s economic reforms despite initial difficulties.
Many citizens, she observed, now believe that policies such as the removal of fuel subsidy and the liberalization of the foreign exchange market—though painful at first—are gradually steering the nation back on track and laying the foundation for a brighter economic future.
“No pain, no gain. At first, some of Mr. President’s actions were uneasy, but because they were made for the greater good of the nation, people are now seeing that there will be light at the end of the tunnel for all of us,” she added.
Princess Folashade-Oba also used the platform to campaign for APC candidates across Ikorodu Division, urging all party loyalists to rally behind the flagbearers in the forthcoming local elections.
“As we move forward as true progressives, I call on all APC faithful to vote en masse for all our APC candidates: Hon. Adedayo Ladega (Ikorodu Local Government), Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem (Ikorodu West LCDA), Hon. Ameen Apanishile (Ikorodu North LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba (Ijede LCDA), Hon. Hammed Aroyewun (Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA), and Hon. Benson Ayodele (Imota LCDA),” she declared.
She concluded the conference by appealing for continued patience from Nigerians with the current administration, expressing confidence that Nigeria is on the cusp of a new era of prosperity under President Tinubu’s leadership.
