
On June 12th, 2025, the Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club brought smiles and renewed hope to the Vocational and Training Center for Persons with Disability in Owutu-Isawo, Agric, Ikorodu, with the donation of educational and mobility support items.
The club donated 80-leaves big notebooks and three white guide canes to assist the learning and daily mobility of individuals living with disabilities at the centre.
The donation was led by the club’s president, Lion Aminat Sanusi, who stated that the club’s outreach was a continuation of their dedication to touching lives and making meaningful contributions to society.
She noted that persons with disabilities deserve equal access to resources that can help them thrive and become independent members of the community.
Lion Aluko Kayode, the Project Service Chairperson of the club, also addressed attendees, emphasizing the importance of empowering persons with disabilities through the provision of tools that enhance their confidence and ability to function independently.
He pointed out that the donated guide canes are not just walking aids but essential instruments for self-reliance among the visually impaired.
The atmosphere at the centre was marked by gratitude and warmth, as the beneficiaries and management welcomed the Lions Club members and expressed deep appreciation for their kind gesture.
The centre’s representatives acknowledged the positive impact the donation would have on the lives of their students and urged the club to continue its noble acts of service.
Present at the event alongside the club president and service chairperson were other devoted members of the Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, including Lion David Akinosho, the Charter President of the club; Lion Fuad Alapufuja; Lion Nuga Femi; Lion Akinlolu Oxygen; Lion Quadri Oladimeji; Lion Amaechi Ukamaka; Lion Agunbiade Victor; and Lion Christian Nwaogu.
The visit served as yet another demonstration of the Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club’s enduring commitment to humanitarian service, inclusion, and community empowerment.
Through this thoughtful intervention, the club reinforced the importance of showing care to those who need it most and reaffirmed its role as a beacon of hope within the Ikorodu community.
