The Lagos State Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation (OTCI) has concluded a strategic capacity-building workshop designed to enhance the efficiency of Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across the state.
Speaking on the initiative, the Director General of OTCI, Mrs. Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa, highlighted the workshop’s focus on equipping participants with the skills to craft clear job descriptions and set measurable performance targets—tools essential for improving role clarity, accountability, and service delivery.
Represented by the Director of Reforms, Mr. Jimi Otunuyi, the DG emphasised the critical role of structured job definitions and goal-setting frameworks in strengthening the performance of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
Participants explored the practical applications of SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) objectives and engaged in hands-on group exercises tailored to align performance targets with organisational goals. Interactive sessions also enabled peer learning and collaborative problem-solving.
OTCI expressed confidence that the skills acquired during the workshop will drive lasting improvements in productivity, transparency, and responsiveness at the grassroots level.
The office further noted that continued support and follow-up mechanisms will be deployed to ensure long-term impact and a culture of performance excellence across the public service.
