The message, signed by Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, recognizes fathers as the steadfast pillars and silent heroes of grassroots development.
Acknowledging the unique role that fathers play in shaping the values, strength, and unity of rural families, Dr. Agbaje praised their enduring commitment to ensuring stable households and progressive communities.
“You are the unsung heroes — pillars of strength, providers of wisdom, and protectors of our homes. Your dedication, resilience, and sacrifices continue to shape the foundation of our society and ensure a brighter future for the next generation,” the message reads.
The Office of Rural Development emphasized the critical role of fathers in sustaining community values, agricultural productivity, and the transmission of cultural heritage.
Their ability to lead by example, provide for their families despite economic challenges, and serve as mentors to the youth were noted as key components in driving rural growth and societal stability.
Dr. Agbaje highlighted that beyond their roles within the home, rural fathers have been instrumental in supporting developmental initiatives rolled out by the state government.
Their cooperation in executing projects such as rural electrification, water access, road rehabilitation, and youth empowerment has contributed significantly to the success of these programs.
