In preparation for the much-anticipated IKODIV Trade Fair 2025, a delegation from the Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) paid a strategic courtesy visit to the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade & Investment (MCCTI) on Tuesday, 24th June 2025.

The visit, which took place at the Ministry’s Conference Room in Alausa, Ikeja, was aimed at deepening collaboration and seeking official support for the successful hosting of the fair scheduled for 1st to 10th December 2025.

The ICCI delegation was warmly received by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Olugbemiga Ayoola Aina. Leading the delegation, ICCI President, Chief Oloruntele Oduloye, outlined the objectives of the visit, emphasizing the importance of the Ministry’s sponsorship, active participation, and support in the jointly organized fair.

Chief Oduloye called for strengthened partnerships between the Chamber and the Ministry, stressing the vital role MCCTI plays in enhancing business growth across Lagos State.

He particularly underscored the need to empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through increased access to trade platforms and training.

“Our aim is to ensure that the IKODIV Trade Fair not only showcases local innovation and enterprise but also serves as a tool to empower MSMEs with the right tools and knowledge to scale their operations,” he stated.

In his response, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Aina, assured the delegation of the Ministry’s willingness to collaborate closely with ICCI towards the success of the fair.

He praised the Chamber’s initiative and pledged the Ministry’s commitment to supporting both the trade fair and associated programs focused on training and capacity development.

“We are ready to work with ICCI to make the IKODIV Trade Fair 2025 a success,” Dr. Aina noted. “The Ministry values such collaborative efforts that promote trade and investment, especially those that uplift small businesses and cooperatives across Lagos.”

Also present at the meeting were other key ICCI executives, including Alhaja Adeola Rotinwa, 2nd Deputy President; Dr. Muhammed Ogidi, Treasurer; and Mr. Michael Adekoya, Director General.

The meeting concluded with a formal appreciation from the Chamber to the Permanent Secretary and the Ministry for their warm reception and assurances of support.

Chief Oduloye also reiterated that the formal proposal submitted would be followed up, as the Chamber looks forward to a mutually beneficial partnership.

The visit stands as part of ICCI’s broader engagement efforts to mobilize institutional support and ensure a successful IKODIV Trade Fair 2025, which aims to become a premier commercial event in Lagos State’s business calendar.
