Ikorodu, Lagos – July 2, 2025, The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) has applauded Hon. Wasiu Adesina, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, for his unwavering commitment to educational development and infrastructural transformation in public schools.
Speaking at the commissioning of a newly completed block of four classrooms with two modern toilet facilities—executed by the council chairman at African Bethel Primary School—Dr. Abdul Hakeem Shittu, Chairman of LASUBEB, described the project—referred to by the chairman as his legacy project—as a model of leadership integrity and educational advancement.
According to Dr. Shittu, Hon. Adesina has demonstrated exceptional dedication by creating a conducive learning environment for pupils across the community.
He emphasized that the project was not only timely and well-executed but also reflects a deeper value of integrity and service delivery.
“Hon. Wasiu Adesina has done very well in ensuring that children in Ikorodu have a conducive environment for learning,” Shittu stated.
“What makes this project even more remarkable is that it speaks volumes about integrity. The chairman did not only make a promise after his need assessment, he fulfilled it — and that is commendable.”
Mr. Shittu further noted that the construction and successful delivery of the project align directly with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus agenda, particularly the pillar focusing on education and technology, which seeks to improve access, infrastructure, and learning outcomes across Lagos State.
In his remarks, Hon. Wasiu Adesina expressed gratitude for the support received from LASUBEB and reiterated his administration’s commitment to transforming the education sector in Ikorodu.
“Education remains one of the strongest pillars for sustainable development, and we are determined to give our children the environment and tools they need to succeed,” Adesina said.

“This initiative underscores our unwavering commitment to improving the state of our schools. After a thorough assessment, we identified key areas of need and took prompt, effective action. I’m grateful to LASUBEB for their recognition, and I trust that future administrations will sustain and expand upon the progress we’ve made.”
Hon. Adesina further revealed that African Bethel Primary School is not the only beneficiary of his administration’s educational interventions.
He listed Salvation Army Primary School and other schools across various wards in Ikorodu as recipients of numerous educational support.
The new classrooms and toilet systems at African Bethel Primary School are expected to significantly ease overcrowding, promote hygiene, and enhance the academic experience for both teachers and students.
