
Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has been described by Aarebirin Hon. Princess Dr. Folashade Olabanji-Oba—National Chairman, Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGOVC); Executive Vice Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government Area; Global Director General (GDG), Asiwaju Distinguished Ambassadors Movement (ADAM); and Convener, Grow Ikorodu Movement—as a symbol of integrity, discipline, and unwavering patriotism, as she mourned his passing in a moving tribute.
The news of his death at a London hospital was announced on Sunday, 13th of July, 2025.
Reflecting on the life and legacy of the former Head of State, Princess Olabanji-Oba praised Buhari’s lifelong commitment to the Nigerian nation—from his formative years in the military, through his leadership as a military Head of State, and eventually as a democratically elected President.
“President Buhari dedicated himself wholeheartedly to the Nigerian project,” she stated.
“He led with humility, lived a life of simplicity, and remained resolute in the fight against corruption. Under his watch, Nigeria witnessed major strides in infrastructure, agriculture, and national security.”
She emphasized that beyond his official roles, President Buhari was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and a revered statesman whose impact would live on in the hearts of countless Nigerians.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, the good people of Katsina State, and the entire nation at this time of loss,” she added.
Offering final prayers, Aarebirin Olabanji-Oba said, “May Almighty Allah grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.”
She concluded her tribute with a solemn farewell:
“Rest in peace, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.”
