“GOD’S POWER FUELED MY DRIVE TO DELIVER DEMOCRACY’S DIVIDENDS — CHAIRMAN ADESINA REFLECTS AS TENURE ENDS” ~ INN Nigeria ☆

The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, has attributed his sustained commitment to governance and development over the past eight years to the divine power of God.

Speaking to journalists during the final rounds of project commissioning ahead of his official exit from office on July 25, 2025, Chairman Adesina emphasized that it was God’s power and grace that kept him steadfast in fulfilling his promises to the people of Ikorodu.

When asked what kept him motivated and consistent throughout his tenure, Adesina simply responded, “The power of God was my energy factor. That divine strength gave me the drive to always stand by my words and deliver on my mandates. I worked with a sense of purpose, not for popularity, but to truly serve the people.”

Often referred to by residents as the “Mr. Talk and Do Chairman”, Adesina has become widely recognized for matching his words with visible actions.

Under his leadership, Ikorodu Local Government has seen significant improvements across key sectors, including road infrastructure, primary education, healthcare delivery, and community empowerment programs.

Highlighting some of his administration’s achievements, the chairman pointed to numerous rehabilitated and newly constructed roads that have improved inter-community connectivity, the renovation and equipping of primary health centers, and the provision of learning materials and school renovations that boosted the education sector in the LGA.

“Every time I saw a problem, I saw an opportunity to prove that government can work. But I never took the credit — I knew it was God’s hand directing every good step,” Adesina noted.

As he prepares to bow out of office, Hon. Wasiu Adesina expressed gratitude to the people of Ikorodu for their support, trust, and cooperation throughout his tenure.

He also called on the incoming administration to continue prioritizing the needs of the people and to uphold the legacy of service and integrity.

“Leadership is not about occupying office; it is about serving with sincerity and humility. I thank God for the opportunity to lead and I thank the good people of Ikorodu for walking this journey with me,” he concluded.

Hon. Wasiu Adesina’s tenure officially ends on July 25, 2025, bringing to a close an administration that many residents have described as purposeful, people-centered, and God-inspired.
