HON. WASIU ADESINA BOWS OUT IN STYLE: COMMISSIONS MULTIPLE ROADS WITH DRAINAGE, STREETLIGHTS ACROSS IKORODU CENTRAL ~ INN Nigeria ☆

The official commissioning of several key road projects across Ikorodu Central on Friday, July 25, 2025, symbolized a legacy of infrastructural development and grassroots impact.

In a fitting end to his two-term tenure as the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina signed out of office that same day.

Accompanied by council officials, community leaders, traditional chiefs, party stalwarts, and residents, Hon. Adesina inaugurated no fewer than five roads, each equipped with modern drainage systems and street lighting—reflecting his administration’s commitment to sustainable urban infrastructure.

The roads commissioned include:

  • Ita-Elewa/Itumaja Road – fully constructed with two-sided drainage systems and fitted with street lights to enhance safety and night-time mobility.
  • Obun-Ale/Itunla Road – now rehabilitated and equipped with modern street lighting, improving access and visibility for motorists and pedestrians alike.
  • Ajina Road – reconstructed with comprehensive two-sided drainage and a network of streetlights, ensuring flood resilience and safer passage.
  • Arowolo-Otayombo Street – developed with dual-sided drainage systems to combat perennial flooding challenges.
  • Dada Street – also completed with two-sided drainage, addressing longstanding environmental and erosion concerns in the area.

During the commissioning ceremonies, Hon. Adesina expressed gratitude to the people of Ikorodu for their unwavering support throughout his eight-year leadership journey.

He highlighted that the completed roads are part of his administration’s deliberate efforts to boost local commerce, improve connectivity, and enhance the quality of life for residents.

“This is not just an end, but a continuation of the work we’ve started,” Adesina remarked. “I am proud to be leaving behind enduring legacies that will benefit our people for generations.”

Community stakeholders who spoke at the event commended the outgoing chairman for his infrastructural strides, especially in roads and environmental management.

They described the projects as timely and impactful, noting that the roads had become impassable in the past due to poor drainage and lack of lighting.

As Hon. Wasiu Adesina officially bows out after completing the constitutional maximum of two terms in office, his final acts in office have been widely regarded as a blueprint for inclusive development and responsible leadership within the grassroots governance structure.

The road commissioning serves not only as a capstone to his tenure but also as a bold statement of service delivery and fulfillment of electoral promises.
