Returning Councillor representing Ward D in Ikorodu Central Local Government, Hon. Shotomiwa Babatunde Wasiu, fondly known as Papi, has lauded the immediate past Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, for leaving behind an enduring legacy through impactful infrastructural development.
Speaking shortly after the commissioning of Arowolo-Otayombo Street and Dada Street—both newly constructed with double-sided drainage systems—Hon. Shotomiwa described the project as “timely, thoughtful, and testament to Adesina’s passion for sustainable development.”
“These are the kinds of projects that define true leadership,” Hon. Shotomiwa stated.
“Hon. Wasiu Adesina has consistently proven himself over time with people-centered projects that will stand the test of time.”
“He will be remembered for these legacy works that add real value to our communities.”
The roads were officially commissioned by Hon. Wasiu Adesina on July 25, 2025, just before the expiration of his tenure as Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government.
Adesina, who served two terms totaling eight years, capped off his administration with the delivery of these critical road projects to improve mobility, drainage, and security through proper lighting.
Residents of the area also expressed gratitude, highlighting that the new infrastructure will ease commuting challenges, reduce flooding, and enhance safety at night.
As Ikorodu transitions to a new leadership phase, Hon. Shotomiwa emphasized the importance of continuity in governance and urged incoming leaders to sustain the momentum of development set in motion by the outgoing chairman.
