In a heartfelt tribute to leadership, service, and community development, the WADESH Babes — a group of progressive women — on Friday, July 25, 2025, honoured former Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, with the presentation of a specially crafted portrait, recognizing his exceptional contributions to the growth of the local government.
The symbolic ceremony was led by Alhaja Rashidat Bello, Special Adviser, to the former Executive Chairman on Women Affairs, and took place shortly after the commissioning of the newly constructed Legislative Chamber of Ikorodu Local Government.
The chamber project, championed under the leadership of Hon. Adesina was officially inaugurated by Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, further cementing the former chairman’s legacy in infrastructural development.
Alhaja Rashidat Bello, speaking during the presentation, praised Hon. Adesina’s tenure as chairman, citing his visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to grassroots progress, and deep concern for women, youth, and vulnerable groups in the community.
“I am delighted, honoured, and filled with immense gratitude to former Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Honorable Wasiu Adesina, having served through your tenures as the pivotal head of Ikorodu LGA,” Alhaja Bello stated.
“You have been an outstanding achiever. Your leadership qualities, vision, and commitment to the people of Ikorodu have been admirable and exemplary.”
She continued by highlighting Hon. Adesina’s active role in fostering positive change and inclusive governance emphasized the impact of his policies and projects on the people of Ikorodu.
“Your dedication to grassroots development, your investments in positive change, your passion for public service, and your love for the well-being of the people — particularly women, youths, and the vulnerable — stand out as enduring legacies,” she added.
The portrait, a symbol of honour and lasting appreciation, was presented in front of a gathering of community leaders, political associates, and supporters who echoed sentiments of admiration and gratitude for Hon. Adesina’s public service.
