Hon. Prince Adedayo Ladega, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, has intensified efforts to expand civic participation through a voter preregistration support initiative now active in all seven wards of the council area. The program commenced on August 18, 2025, and continues to record significant engagement from residents.
Determined to make the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise more accessible, Hon. Ladega decentralized the preregistration process, extending it beyond the statutory INEC registration center at the Ikorodu LGA Secretariat.
Dedicated digital support teams have been stationed across the wards to assist residents with the online component of voter registration, providing a seamless and convenient experience.
The scheme was conceived to bridge the digital gap, curb voter disenfranchisement, and promote wider grassroots participation in governance.
Already, the initiative has drawn commendable turnout, with community members expressing appreciation for the closer-to-home access and ease of the ward-level services.
