The Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club on Friday, August 22, held an inspiring youth enlightenment program at the Oshodi Arts Gallery, where children were sensitized on the importance of humanitarian values and cautioned against the dangers of social vices.
The program, which drew young participants from the community, featured engaging sessions facilitated by the club’s President, Lion Dr. Oshodi Seyi Paul.
The Immediate Past President (IPP), Lion Aminat A. Sanusi, in her presentation, took the children through the meaning of humanitarianism, stressing that kindness, empathy, and service to others are virtues that should be embraced early in life.
She described humanitarian values as the foundation of responsible citizenship and urged the children to always find ways to add value to society.

In a complementary session, Lion Victor Agunbiade delivered a powerful message on social vices.
He highlighted the dangers of drug abuse, cultism, cybercrime, and other negative influences threatening the future of young people.
He encouraged the children to resist peer pressure, choose the right friends, and focus on building positive character traits that would shape their success in life.
Also in attendance were Lion Fuad Alapafuja, Project Chairperson; Lion Quadri Oladimeji, Secretary; Lion Kayode Aluko, Membership Director; along with members of the Leo Club, who actively participated and engaged the children in interactive discussions.
The program left a strong impact on participants, equipping them with moral guidance and motivation to lead purposeful lives.

By combining mentorship with education, the Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club reaffirmed its role as a pillar of youth empowerment and community development in the division.
