LIONS CLUB MARKS INTERNATIONAL DAY OF CHARITY 2025 WITH HEARTFELT VISIT TO OLD PEOPLE’S HOME ~ INN Nigeria ☆

In commemoration of the International Day of Charity 2025, the Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, District 404A3 Nigeria, extended its culture of compassion and service by visiting the Old People’s Home, Owutu Agric, Ikorodu, on Friday, 5th September 2025.

The event, themed “Passion in Service,” was a demonstration of the Lions’ commitment to humanity, focusing on love, care, and support for the elderly, who are often overlooked in society.

The club members spent time with the residents of the home, offering encouragement, companionship, and relief items to make their lives more comfortable.

The project was graced by dedicated members of the club, including: Lion Dr. Oshodi Seyi Paul – President; Lion Fuad Alapufuja – Project Chairperson; Lion Aluko Kayode – Membership Director; Lion Aminat Sanusi – Immediate Past President (IPP); Lion Oni Yemi – Welfare Chairperson; and Lion Oshomoji Oluwadamilare – Treasurer

Speaking at the event, Lion Oshodi Paul, the Club President, reaffirmed the Lions’ commitment to serving humanity with empathy, noting that charity remains one of the most powerful tools to uplift society.

He described the visit as a meaningful act of giving back and standing in solidarity with the elderly who once gave their best to society.

Lion Fuad Alapufuja, the Project Chairperson, emphasized that the International Day of Charity provides an opportunity to reflect on the importance of kindness and collective responsibility.

He explained that the club chose the Old People’s Home as a way to honour the elderly and remind them that they are valued and not forgotten.

Other speakers, including Lion Aminat Sanusi (IPP) and Lion Oni Yemi (Welfare Chairperson), expressed joy in putting smiles on the faces of the aged, reiterating that true service comes from selfless giving.

The highlight of the event was the warm interaction between the Lions and the residents of the home.

Emotional moments were shared as the elderly expressed gratitude for the love and attention showered on them. The day ended on a cheerful note, with prayers for the continued growth of the club and blessings for its members.

The Ikorodu Peculiar Lions Club, true to its guiding principle of “We Serve,” once again demonstrated that service to humanity, particularly to the vulnerable, is the bedrock of a stronger and more compassionate society.
