ABIRU ROLLS OUT WAVE OF NEW ROADS, PROMISES MORE TRANSFORMATIVE PROJECTS ACROSS LAGOS EAST ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, on Monday toured a string of recently completed road projects driven by his constituency interventions.

Residents, motorists and traditional leaders lined the streets to welcome the senator as he inspected the finished works at Ojokoro Road (Agric), Nurudeen Owolabi, Alogba (Lowa), Apena Jimbo, Jalajugbo, Ibu Owo, Agunfoye, Ojediran and Andu/Oshikoya.

Jubilant locals described the new roads as a lifeline for their communities.

Abiru announced that contractors will mobilise before year-end to additional sites, including Soji Oshodi/Mutairu/Okeme Street in Pedro (Somolu/Bariga), Olulonyo–Ebuwawa Road in Agbede (Ikorodu North), Utuh Street in Akanimodo (Mile 12, Agboyi-Ketu), Ondo Street in Ajegunle (Agboyi-Ketu), Otolu–Ilagbo in Lekki, Rala/Oshokeji Street in Ketu (Epe), GRA 2 Road in Alogba, and Dagbolu Road.

Further phases will extend to Sikiru Musa Road in Ibonwon (Eredo), Ojuemuren Road linking Ita-Oloja/Express in Ikorodu North LCDA, and Francis Okon Street connecting Ijede Road with the Ikorodu/Itoikin highway.

Second phases of the Ojokoro and Agunfoye projects are also planned.

“Opening Up Communities for Prosperity”
Speaking during the inspection, Abiru said the works followed extensive consultations with residents and community leaders to pinpoint urgent needs.

“These roads ease daily hardship, unlock economic opportunities and restore the dignity of decent surroundings,” he said.

“The feedback has been encouraging, and it strengthens my resolve to do even more across the 16 LGAs and LCDAs of Lagos East.”

The senator added that equitable development across the district remains his priority.

Elder statesman Alhaji Jimoh Folorunsho Alogba, 92, told reporters he never imagined the Alogba road would be rehabilitated so swiftly.

“Senator Abiru has shown that responsive leadership still exists,” he said.

Another resident, Mutiu Abiodun Banjo, praised the senator’s quick action: “We raised this issue not long ago, and today the road is complete. That is the kind of leadership communities need.”

Abiru urged residents to protect and maintain the new infrastructure, emphasising that community ownership is essential for lasting progress.

The lawmaker also highlighted ongoing initiatives in education, health care and youth empowerment.

Through the SAIL Empowerment Foundation, he said, hundreds of young people are being trained in high-demand digital and technology skills, with many already placed in jobs.

The latest road tour reinforces Abiru’s growing reputation as a results-driven legislator whose “Doing Good” slogan, constituents say, is increasingly visible on the ground.
