Ikorodu Federal Lawmaker, Rep. Babajimi Benson, MHR, has once again raised the bar of constituency development with a dual project event held on the 20th of September 2025 in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The landmark occasion featured the commissioning of a state-of-the-art ICT Centre at the Ikorodu Ultra-Modern Town Hall in Ikorodu Central, as well as the official groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the 7.5-kilometre Agbede–Ajegunle–Orimedu–Ita-Oluwo Road in Ikorodu North LCDA.
The newly facilitated Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre, equipped with 150 laptops, is designed to advance digital knowledge and skills among students across Ikorodu Division.
Handed over to the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG), the facility is expected to serve as a key hub for youth empowerment, aligning with global trends in digital education and innovation.
Rep. Benson stated that the ICT Centre will empower students to enhance their tech skills and confidently compete with digital innovators across Nigeria and internationally.
Speaking during the road project launch, Rep. Benson revealed that the first phase of the 11-metre-wide road will be completed within six months.
The road, set to ease transportation and boost economic activities within the division, will be illuminated by solar-powered streetlights, ensuring safety and sustainability.
To guarantee quality and timely delivery, two contractors have been engaged for the construction.
Rep. Benson expressed profound gratitude to the people of Ikorodu for their support, stating that “the reward of hard work is more,” and pledging continued delivery of dividends of democracy to his constituents.
Widely celebrated as the “Julius Berger of Ikorodu” for his exceptional approach to infrastructure development, Rep. Benson once again demonstrated his commitment to tangible, life-changing projects that directly impact the people.
Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, who joined the lawmaker at the event, congratulated him on behalf of the Lagos State Government.
Dr. Agbaje commended Rep. Benson’s foresight and dedication, describing the projects as “remarkable achievements that will leave lasting benefits for the Ikorodu Division.”
