
The Leader of the Legislative Council in Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Adeshina Ademola Oluwole, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Ikorodu Division Councillors’ Forum, securing the unanimous endorsement of councillors from across the division.
The inaugural meeting convened on September 17, 2025, at the NS SHO Hotel in Imota LCDA.
The formal swearing-in, attended by lawmakers and political figures from all six councils in Ikorodu Division, underscored the growing influence of the grassroots legislative body.
Hon. Oluwole, who currently presides over the Imota LCDA legislature, was widely praised for his steady leadership and commitment to community advancement.
In his remarks, Hon. Oluwole thanked his colleagues for their trust and promised to strengthen cooperation among councillors throughout the division.
He highlighted plans to reinforce the legislative process at the local level and pledged to maintain constructive partnerships with the various council chairmen to deliver tangible benefits to residents.
Former Forum Chairman Hon. Adebowale Adebola, reflecting on his own tenure, urged the incoming executive to consolidate on past milestones.
He advised members to maintain unity and work closely with their respective council executives, noting that collaboration remains essential for effective local governance.
The Ikorodu Division Councillors’ Forum acts as a coalition for councillors representing the division’s Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas, enabling peer learning, policy dialogue, and coordinated action on issues affecting communities.
Hon. Oluwole’s elevation is expected to usher in a more cohesive and proactive legislative agenda across the division, reinforcing the forum’s role as a key driver of sustainable development within Ikorodu Division.
