
Immediate past Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Honourable Wasiu Adesina, has been conferred with an “Award of Excellence” by AS-SAMADAANI – The Global Corporation of Islamic Organization, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the advancement of Islam and service to humanity.
The honour was bestowed on Sunday, September 21, 2025, during a special ceremony attended by Islamic scholars, community leaders, and dignitaries from across Ikorodu Division and beyond.
Adesina also received the distinguished title of Bada Adinni of the As-Samadani Congregation, acknowledging his impactful contributions both locally and internationally.

Presenting the award, His Eminence, Sheikh Yahya Olorunosebi Oshoala Ajagbemokeferi (As-Samadani), the revered Chief Imam of Oriwu Central Mosque, Ikorodu Division, described Hon. Adesina as “a steadfast supporter of Islamic values and a leader whose influence extends beyond politics to the upliftment of humanity.”
AS-SAMADAANI, widely recognized as a global Islamic organization committed to the propagation of Islamic teachings and humanitarian ideals, noted that the award highlights Hon. Adesina’s “immense and excellent contributions to the upliftment of Islam and humanity.”

In his brief remarks, Hon. Adesina expressed gratitude for the honour, dedicating the award to the Muslim community of Ikorodu and pledging continued support for programs that promote religious harmony, social development, and empowerment of the less privileged.
Community members and guests at the event lauded the former council boss for his consistent involvement in initiatives that enhance education, community welfare, and interfaith understanding, describing him as “a leader who serves with compassion and integrity.”

The AS-SAMADAANI Award of Excellence further cements Hon. Adesina’s standing as a respected political figure and humanitarian advocate, reinforcing his legacy of service within Ikorodu and the wider Islamic community.
