Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has embarked on a fresh drive to strengthen its public primary school infrastructure, with the official flag-off of new classroom and toilet facilities across four schools in the community.
On Tuesday, 23 September 2025, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, led the groundbreaking ceremony, signaling the start of construction works aimed at easing overcrowding and improving hygiene standards.
The beneficiary schools include Anglican Nursery and Primary School, Egbin Kingdom Primary School, Methodist Nursery and Primary School, and Community Nursery and Primary School.
Addressing a gathering of party leaders, community stakeholders, head teachers, and residents, Gbadebo-Alogba described the initiative as a strategic investment in the future of Ijede’s children.
“Primary education is the bedrock of every child’s growth,” she said.
“My administration is committed to expanding learning spaces. I urge the contractors to deliver quality work within the scheduled time frame so pupils can benefit without delay.”
Attendees at the event praised the council’s proactive approach, noting that the additional classrooms and modern sanitation blocks will enhance teaching conditions and encourage higher school enrollment.
The project underscores the council’s ongoing commitment to education as a catalyst for community development and long-term social progress.
