LAGOS — The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, has been honoured with the “Most Supportive Individual” award by the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) for her outstanding dedication to youth leadership development in the state.
The award was formally presented during a brief ceremony at the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa, where top government officials and representatives of the Academy gathered to celebrate Mrs. Bolarinwa’s remarkable contributions.
According to the citation on the plaque, the honour was given “in recognition of your unwavering support and collaboration with the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy.”
“Your invaluable contributions have strengthened our programmes and created enabling platforms for the Fellows to learn, lead, and make a meaningful impact.”
The certificate of recognition was signed by Mrs. Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade, Executive Secretary of the Academy, who commended Mrs. Bolarinwa’s consistent partnership and encouragement of initiatives that equip young leaders with practical governance skills.
Mrs. Bolarinwa expressed gratitude for the award, describing it as a call to further action.
“This recognition is not just for me, but for every public servant who believes in mentoring the next generation of leaders,” she said.
“The Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy has proven to be a vital platform for grooming future policymakers, and I am honoured to be part of its journey.”
The Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, named after the late former Governor of Lagos State, is a flagship youth development initiative of the Lagos State Government.
It provides young professionals, known as Fellows, with practical exposure to governance and leadership through intensive training and placements across government ministries and agencies.
With this award, Mrs. Bolarinwa joins a growing list of public servants and private sector leaders recognized for fostering innovative programmes that inspire Lagos’ next generation of policymakers and community builders.
