AT 65, NIGERIA’S JOURNEY CONTINUES – LADEGA RALLIES IKORODU RESIDENTS WITH INDEPENDENCE DAY MESSAGE ~ INN Nigeria ☆

As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence anniversary, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Prince Adedayo Ladega, has called on residents to uphold unity, embrace discipline, and remain committed to building a prosperous community.

In his goodwill message, Ladega described Independence Day as more than a symbolic remembrance of freedom, stressing that it serves as a renewed call to collective responsibility.

He highlighted his administration’s S.E.E.D. Agenda—Security, Education, Enhanced Healthcare, and Development—explaining that the initiative is designed to create a safer, more empowered, and forward-looking Ikorodu.

“Our administration is not waiting for change; we are driving it,” he declared. “True development is not only about roads and infrastructure, it is about investing in people, restoring dignity, and expanding opportunities for prosperity.”

The council chairman noted that his efforts at the grassroots level complement the broader policy direction of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ agenda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, both of which aim to deliver sustainable growth and effective governance across Nigeria.

Addressing the youths of Ikorodu, Ladega urged them to see themselves as the driving force of the future.

He emphasized discipline, education, and resilience as essential tools for success, warning against distractions that could hinder their potential.

“Young people must understand that greatness is not a product of chance, but of focus, hard work, and the courage to dream beyond limitations. Your voices and ideas are vital in shaping the Ikorodu of tomorrow,” he advised.

The chairman concluded by calling for unity and patriotism, reminding citizens that Nigeria’s strength lies in its diversity and shared aspirations.

“As we raise our flags and sing the anthem today, may this Independence anniversary renew our hope, deepen our commitment to peace, and strengthen our resolve to build a greater Ikorodu where no one is left behind,” he said.

He ended with a resounding patriotic salute: “Long live Ikorodu! Long live Lagos State! Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!”
