The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, and the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, paid a courtesy visit today to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, in a move aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s financial landscape and boosting sustainable development.
According to Senator Abiru, the high-level meeting focused on reinforcing collaboration between Lagos State and the apex bank, with particular attention on driving sustainable economic growth, ensuring financial stability, and advancing the prosperity of Lagos State and the nation at large.
The Senator noted that the discussions were in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which emphasizes economic rejuvenation, inclusive growth, and the creation of robust opportunities for citizens across the country.
“I remain committed to fostering partnerships that will continue to bring development to our people, especially in areas of economy, financial inclusion, and investment opportunities,” Abiru stated.
The visit underscores the critical role of Lagos State as Nigeria’s economic hub and the importance of collaboration between political leaders and financial regulators in advancing long-term development.
It also reflects a shared commitment to policies and initiatives that will not only strengthen the state’s financial ecosystem but also contribute significantly to the nation’s economic recovery and prosperity.
