MAYA OLORIJO ESTATE PHASE 2 BENEFITS FROM LAGOS STATE WATER SCHEME AND NEW GENERATOR ~ INN Nigeria ☆

The Lagos State Government has commissioned a water scheme project, complete with a brand-new generator, for residents of Maya Olorijo Estate Phase 2 in Ikorodu North LCDA, in a significant stride towards improving access to potable water in underserved communities.

The initiative, executed through the Office of Rural Development, is part of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s administration’s commitment to addressing pressing community needs, particularly in areas facing infrastructural deficits.

Speaking on the project, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, emphasized that the intervention was in direct response to community requests.

He noted that the Governor had given clear directives to ensure that rural and semi-urban areas across the state are not left behind in the provision of basic amenities.

“This project reflects Mr. Governor’s vision of inclusive development and his determination to respond to the needs of communities through targeted interventions. The water scheme, backed by a new generator to guarantee uninterrupted supply, is designed to ease the burden residents have faced due to prolonged power outages,” Dr. Agbaje stated.

The Community Development Association (CDA) executives and residents expressed profound gratitude to the Lagos State Government for the timely intervention.

Mr. Victor Ologhobo, CDA Chairman, commended the government for bringing relief to the area after enduring over a year without adequate water supply due to persistent power failure.

“This project is a huge relief to our people. For more than a year, we struggled with water access because of power issues. With this intervention, life will be much easier for residents,” Ologhobo said.

Also appreciating the government’s efforts were CDA Secretary, Mr. Ogunjobi Olaoluwa; CDA Financial Secretary, Mr. Ismail Sodiq; community members including Mr. Murisiku Sule, Mr. Fasheun Kayode, and Mr. Felix Aberefa; as well as the project contractor, Mr. Olukorede Koleoso, who assured residents of the durability and sustainability of the scheme.

The intervention is expected to improve the quality of life in Maya Olorijo Estate Phase 2, strengthen community development, and stand as a testament to the government’s dedication to grassroots empowerment across Lagos State.
