SANWO-OLU’S RURAL DEVELOPMENT DRIVE: VICTORY ESTATE, PARAFA GETS WATER PROJECT, GENERATOR ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Victory Estate in Parafa, Ikorodu, has taken delivery of a new water scheme equipped with a generator, courtesy of the Lagos State Government through the Office of Rural Development.

The initiative, commissioned under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration, is designed to improve access to clean water in underserved areas.

According to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, the scheme is part of ongoing projects aimed at addressing long-standing infrastructure deficits in rural and peri-urban communities across the state.

Before the intervention, residents of Victory Estate relied heavily on private boreholes and water vendors, often at high financial cost.

The project was officially received by the estate’s leadership, including Engr. Oyetola Olakunle, Chairman of the CDA; Mr. Akorede Aliu, Vice Chairman; Mr. Imoudumhe Ododo, Social Secretary; Mrs. Adawole Oyebokun Afolake, General Secretary; Mr. Apena Ahmed, Public Relations Officer; and Elder Adeoye Isaac.

CDA Chairman Engr. Olakunle praised the state government for what he termed a “lifeline for households,” stressing that the project would significantly enhance the welfare of residents.

“This facility is a direct response to our needs. It assures us that government is not leaving peri-urban communities behind in development,” he said.

Other CDA officials echoed his remarks, noting that the generator supplied alongside the water scheme would ensure continuous operation despite irregular electricity supply.

They also expressed appreciation to Governor Sanwo-Olu and the Office of Rural Development for prioritizing the community’s welfare.

The executives believe the facility will ease the struggle for safe water, improve sanitation, and add to the estate’s overall growth.

They pledged to protect and maintain the infrastructure for long-term use.

With this project, Victory Estate joins several communities in Ikorodu Division already benefiting from Sanwo-Olu’s rural development programmes, reinforcing the state government’s commitment to delivering basic amenities and improving grassroots living standards.
