4.2KM ONOSA ROAD CONSTRUCTION: DR. AGBAJE CALLS FOR COOPERATION, UNITY, AND HARMONY AS LASG COMMENCES PROJECT IN IBEJU-LEKKI LCDA ~ INN Nigeria ☆

The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, has called on residents of Ibeju-Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to promote unity, harmony, and togetherness as the Lagos State Government, through the Office of Rural Development, commences the construction of the 4.2-kilometre Onosa/Onosa Y Junction–Fokunmade/Onosa Road.

Dr. Agbaje made the appeal during the flag-off ceremony of the project, which is part of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ agenda aimed at promoting rural development and improving infrastructure across local communities.

Addressing community leaders, stakeholders, and residents present at the event, Dr. Agbaje emphasized that peace and cooperation among residents are key factors in complementing government efforts toward meaningful development.

“The best way for a community to complement government’s efforts is by promoting unity, peace, and progress,” he said.

“Even though this community is made up of people from different ethnic backgrounds, it continues to reflect the strength and beauty of unity. That spirit of togetherness is what makes communities grow like never before.”

Dr. Agbaje further noted that for communities to attract more government support, residents must always present a unified voice when engaging with authorities.

“When communities speak with one voice, their message becomes clearer and stronger.

It is through unity that they can effectively communicate their needs and attract more development projects from the government,” he added.

The Special Adviser reaffirmed the Sanwo-Olu administration’s commitment to rural transformation and inclusive development across all parts of Lagos State, assuring residents that the Onosa Road project will bring long-lasting benefits in accessibility, safety, and economic activity.

The 4.2-kilometre Onosa Road project, which will span Onosa Road through Onosa Y Junction to Fokunmade and connect to Onosa Road 4 leading to the Expressway, is expected to be completed within 18 months.

It will feature interlocked paving, a covered drainage system measuring 750 mm × 750 mm, a 7.3-metre carriageway, and solar-powered streetlights to enhance night visibility and safety.

Residents at the flag-off applauded the state government for the initiative and pledged their cooperation throughout the duration of the project.

The event marks another milestone in the Lagos State Government’s drive to strengthen rural infrastructure and foster community development, in line with its vision of building a Greater Lagos Rising through unity and collaboration at the grassroots.
