Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye, representing Ikorodu Constituency I at the Lagos State House of Assembly, has commended Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for the flag-off of the 360-metre Ladejobi–Ita Ajele Road construction project in Ikorodu, describing it as another demonstration of the governor’s commitment to infrastructural development and equitable governance across Lagos State.

Hon. Ogunleye, who made the commendation during the flag-off ceremony held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, expressed appreciation to the governor for ensuring that the people of Ikorodu continue to benefit from the dividends of democracy through impactful projects that enhance living standards and stimulate local economic growth.

He also lauded Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, for his instrumental role in facilitating the realization of the project.

According to him, Dr. Agbaje’s dedication and proactive engagement have ensured that rural and semi-urban communities like Ikorodu receive attention in the ongoing infrastructural renewal drive of the Sanwo-Olu administration.

“Governor Sanwo-Olu has once again demonstrated his commitment to balanced development across the state.”

“I must also commend Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje for his pivotal efforts in bringing this project to fruition. His office has been a strong bridge between the state government and our local communities,” Hon. Ogunleye stated.

The lawmaker reaffirmed his support for initiatives that promote development and inclusiveness, noting that the Ladejobi–Ita Ajele Road, once completed, would significantly improve mobility, reduce travel time, and attract more business activities to the area.

Hon. Ogunleye further called on residents to cooperate with the contractors and the Office of Rural Development to ensure the smooth and timely execution of the project.

The 360-metre Ladejobi–Ita Ajele Road, which features asphalt surfacing, covered drainage, and solar-powered streetlights, is expected to be completed within six months and stands as part of the Sanwo-Olu administration’s ongoing commitment to transforming rural infrastructure across Lagos State.
