The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday led an impressive procession of women leaders, including the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Oluremi
Hamzat, and members of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), for the 25th edition of the organization’s annual Pre-Conference Wellness Walk held in Ikorodu, Lagos East Senatorial District.
The event, which attracted more than 470 women from across the state, was hosted by Mrs. Feyisola Abiru, wife of Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, representing Lagos East.
Mrs. Abiru, who also serves as COWLSO leader in the senatorial district, coordinated participants from the five councils in Ikorodu Division to give the First Lady and her team a memorable reception.
As part of activities marking the Pre-Conference Walk, the First Lady and her entourage visited the SAIL Innovation Lab—an initiative of the SAIL Empowerment Foundation, founded by Senator Abiru and his wife.
The facility, located in Ikorodu, is a modern digital innovation and tech center providing free training, career placements, and entrepreneurship support to hundreds of young people across Lagos East.
Visibly impressed by the state-of-the-art facility and its life-changing impact, Dr. Sanwo-Olu commended Senator Abiru and his wife for their forward-thinking initiative aimed at equipping youths with 21st-century digital skills.
“I am genuinely inspired by the transformation happening here,” the First Lady said. “What Senator Abiru and his wife are doing through SAIL Innovation Lab is truly phenomenal.”
“This center is empowering our youths, shaping their future, and securing a better tomorrow for our communities. I urge all beneficiaries to take full advantage of this golden opportunity.”
The COWLSO delegation also paid a visit to the Industrial Development Centre of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), and later called on Mrs. Oluwagbemiga Olabisi Benson, the pioneer Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB).

In her remarks, Mrs. Feyisola Abiru expressed profound appreciation to the Lagos State Government for its continued commitment to women’s development and family welfare.
She lauded the inclusive leadership style of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the supportive role of the First Lady in advancing women-focused initiatives across the state.
“Your Excellency, we deeply appreciate your unwavering support and compassionate leadership,” Mrs. Abiru stated.
“The progress being recorded across the state under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu is truly commendable.”
“The THEMES+ agenda of this administration continues to touch lives, aligning perfectly with the Renewed Hope vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and our mother, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, OON.”

The COWLSO Pre-Conference Walk, an annual prelude to the National Women’s Conference, is designed to promote physical wellness, unity, and civic engagement among women in leadership and public service.
