The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, has joined numerous well-wishers in celebrating the birthday of Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, a revered elder statesman, Lagos Governance Advisory Council (GAC) member, and former Secretary to the Lagos State Government.
In a heartfelt message on the 15th of October 2025, Dr. Agbaje described Asiwaju Basorun as “a towering pillar of wisdom, an embodiment of progressive ideals, and a guiding light whose leadership continues to inspire generations of public servants across Lagos State and Nigeria at large.”
Dr. Agbaje noted that Asiwaju Basorun’s life has been defined by dedication to public service, commitment to community growth, and consistent advocacy for good governance.
He added that the elder statesman’s influence as one of the foremost political figures in Ikorodu Division has remained a beacon of unity and mentorship for young leaders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and beyond.
