
Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba Executive chairman ijede Lcda, has paid tribute to farmers, food producers, and agricultural workers whose daily efforts sustain lives and nourish communities across the globe.
Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba emphasized the importance of food as a fundamental human right and a cornerstone of societal stability. She described World Food Day as a global reminder of the urgent need to strengthen food security systems, promote sustainable agricultural practices, and ensure equitable access to safe and nutritious meals for all citizens.
“Today, we celebrate the invaluable contributions of our farmers and food producers who work tirelessly to feed our planet,” she stated. “It is also a time to reflect on our collective responsibility to build a world where no one goes hungry, and where our food systems are inclusive and environmentally sustainable.”
The council boss reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to supporting local farmers through empowerment initiatives, agricultural capacity-building, and improved market access. She also pledged continued government efforts to curb food waste and encourage community-driven agricultural innovations that enhance food availability and resilience.
“As a government, we remain dedicated to policies that promote nourishment, sustainability, and food sufficiency,” Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba added. “Our goal is a future where every household in Ijede—and across Nigeria—has access to affordable, nutritious food.”
She concluded by extending heartfelt appreciation to all stakeholders in the food value chain, reaffirming Ijede LCDA’s partnership in advancing sustainable development and ensuring that no one is left behind.
