
Education in Ijede is set for a significant boost as Hon. (Dr.) Aro Moshood Abiodun, popularly known as AMA, member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency II, has initiated the construction of an ultra-modern 18-classroom complex at Luwasa Senior Secondary School, his alma mater.
The foundation-laying ceremony of the project, held on October 17, 2025, to coincide with the school’s 45th anniversary, reflects Hon. Aro’s enduring commitment to educational development and his passion for giving back to the community that shaped him.
The new facility, when completed, will offer a modern and conducive learning environment, fully equipped with state-of-the-art amenities to enhance teaching and learning.
The expansive school complex will comprise 18 classrooms, science and home economics laboratories, a sick bay, consultancy office, staff rooms, administrative offices for the principal and vice principals, gender-separated toilet facilities, and essential utilities including an extended water tank, treatment plant, and upgraded drainage and safety systems.
The contract has been awarded to POLYTIMOS HOLD INTERNATIONAL LTD, with a six-month completion timeline.
At the foundation-laying ceremony, which drew a large crowd of dignitaries, political figures, and education stakeholders, the Horizon Estate Community Development Association (CDA), Ilado, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, presented a Frame of Honour to Hon. Aro in appreciation of his visionary leadership and commitment to grassroots development.
Notable attendees included Hon. Saheed Adefarasi, Apex Leader of Ijede; Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, Chairman of Ijede LCDA; Chief Jamiu Adisa Quadri; Chief Raji Olodo; Chief Nosiru Kehinde Fesomu, CDC Chairman; Hon. Moriamo Olubi, Councilor; and Mrs. Idowu Alozie, Principal of Luwasa Junior Secondary School.

In her address, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba praised Hon. Aro for his unwavering focus on education, describing the initiative as a bold step towards the progress the people of Ijede desire.
“This is the kind of development we want in our community — one that directly impacts the lives of our children and secures the future of Ijede,” she remarked.
Echoing similar sentiments, Hon. Saheed Adefarasi and Chief Jamiu Adisa hailed the project as a visionary intervention that would stand as a long-lasting legacy for the constituency.
Representing the Luwasa Old Students’ Association, the association’s secretary, Mr. Moshood Tijani, lauded Hon. Aro’s gesture, describing it as a monumental act of gratitude and inspiration.
“This is more than just a building; it is a symbol of hope and a legacy that will inspire generations of students,” Tijani said.
