DR. AGBAJE INTERVENES IN ITO COMMUNITY’S BULK METERING DISPUTE, PROMISES LASTING RESOLUTION ~ INN Nigeria ☆

Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring peace and fairness in rural communities as he waded into the ongoing bulk metering dispute in Ito Community.

Speaking on the matter, Dr. Agbaje disclosed that he was in a crucial meeting with members of the Ito Community Development Association (CDA) on the directive of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State.

The meeting, according to him, was convened to address the pressing issues surrounding the bulk metering machine recently installed on the community transformer — a development that had sparked tension among residents.

“I was directed by the Deputy Governor to engage with the leadership of Ito Community to examine the situation surrounding the bulk metering machine on their transformer.”

“I ensured that the discussions were held in an atmosphere of peace and mutual understanding,” Dr. Agbaje stated.

The Special Adviser emphasized the importance of peaceful advocacy in resolving community challenges, assuring residents that the state government would not relent until a lasting solution is reached.

He also noted that his office would continue to mediate between relevant stakeholders — including electricity distribution authorities and community leaders — to ensure fairness and transparency.

“I have promised to personally visit Ito Community to oversee the situation and ensure that the problem is resolved in a way that benefits everyone.”

“The Sanwo-Olu administration remains committed to fostering harmony and improving the quality of life in all rural areas,” he added.

The meeting was described as constructive, with both government representatives and community members expressing optimism that the intervention would bring an end to the prolonged dispute.

This move further underscores the proactive approach of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s administration toward addressing infrastructural and utility challenges in rural communities across the state.
